Indigenous Peoples and local communities lack the land and resource rights to be effective stewards of their land and sea. They face increasing threats from extractive industries, infrastructure development and the effects of climate change.
Frontline environmental NGOs are key to supporting community-led conservation, but they are starved of the funding and support needed to grow their organizations and impact.
We strengthen local CSOs to accelerate IPLC led stewardship of land and sea.
We aim to systematically strengthen local CSOs by increasing their visibility, strengthening their organizational capacity and helping them access more and longer term funding.
What we do
Organizational Development
We help local CSOs grow and strengthen by facilitating and advising on organizational strengthening priorities, customized to each partners’ needs and organizational contexts.
Shifting power and funding
We research, publish and advocate for shifts in practice that create the enabling conditions for local conservation NGOs to flourish. We also help partners access funding directly.
Consulting Services
We consult on mission-aligned projects, where we inform and advise the practises and strategies of philanthropic institutions and international NGOs.
